Hard day of climbs. However, I am surrounded by two women who show me much grace. Amy and Pam have been amazing. Sometimes I am so driven to accomplish something I lose sight of the bigger picture. You see many beautiful sights here but I am so busy trying to stay on schedule and get the miles in that I make it miserable. I knew this ride would teach me many things and it is. This is an amazing country filled with great people. I don’t want to miss the important stuff as we make the trip. Time to add a bit more fun and appreciate the people around me who put their lives on hold to help me chase my dream. From one messed-up guy with sore legs and sun burn.
Hang in there and have fun!
ReplyDeleteIt is a privilege to be on this journey with you.
ReplyDeleteRoosevelt Lake is both challenging and inspiring. Your photos are great. I sent Pam a photo of the bridge from a different angle. Bicycle rides bring out the best in us and remind us to pay attention to what is going on around us. God bless.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures and the posts. We continue to pray for your journey. You have the right mindset, enjoy your experience!
ReplyDeleteJoel, it certainly is a balancing act. Add to that the fact that you are transitioning from a dynamic career to retirement, it may take a minute to shift your gears. AND you noticed this early in the trip. Great job!
