Good ride into Silsbee, TX

We are officially out of the desert and into the second half of our trip. Fog and cloud cover during our ride today. We saw more big dead snakes today on the road than we have seen all ride. Our ride lengths each day are partially determined by having a hotel we can stay in at the end. Finding hotels that will accommodate our security guard Finn can be a challenge. So we have stayed in some interesting places. Just last night in route to our hotel, Pam and Amy had to jump into action because the hotel for last night called us and cancelled less than an hour before we checked in.

  1. I'm astounded that there aren't more pet friendly places.

Amy’s Birthday Ride!

We celebrated Amy’s last birthday in her 40’s by riding 58 miles. Tallahassee is behind us and we are staying in a cabin in Madison, FL. Passed a big alligator on the side of the road in our last 10 miles. Rode through Ray Charles birthplace. Planning a relaxing afternoon. Details of our Thursday 10AM finish at St Augustine beach are posted in a picture above. We will pull into the parking area by the fishing pier.  Upon arrival and we will take the finish picture at the Atlantic Ocean. If you plan to be there please let us know in the comments. Everyone in attendance will get a plaque, t-shirt or handshake.

Done!

Riding day 2 in the books.

Better day today. Steep descents on our ride out of the mountains. Crazy high winds tried to blow us off the mountain. Rode through the desert with amazing tailwinds. The sun and heat are brutal. We were 50’yards from the border. Felt 100% better today. You almost can’t drink enough water here.
