In Texas now!

Crossed into Texas today. Rode through El Paso. Ate at a local market for lunch just a stone’s throw from the border. Closest yet to the border wall. Saw a border crossing station and an overpass across the border. Rode 8 miles of a bike trail next to the dry Rio Grande River. We are appreciative of drivers who move over and give us space to ride. Several roads today did not have safe places to ride.

Good ride just over 70 miles. Had our 2nd flat tire. It was the front one this time just 2 miles from our hotel for tonight. Staying in Clint, Texas tonight.

  1. You will see all kinds of terrains on your ride across Texas. Sorry about your flat tire. Loving the puppy pictures! So cute!

  2. The shadow pic is cool—frame worthy for sure. The tree lined lane with some shade must have been a welcome sight! Enjoying all the pictures and commentary so much!

Amy’s Birthday Ride!

We celebrated Amy’s last birthday in her 40’s by riding 58 miles. Tallahassee is behind us and we are staying in a cabin in Madison, FL. Passed a big alligator on the side of the road in our last 10 miles. Rode through Ray Charles birthplace. Planning a relaxing afternoon. Details of our Thursday 10AM finish at St Augustine beach are posted in a picture above. We will pull into the parking area by the fishing pier.  Upon arrival and we will take the finish picture at the Atlantic Ocean. If you plan to be there please let us know in the comments. Everyone in attendance will get a plaque, t-shirt or handshake.

Done!

Riding day 2 in the books.

Better day today. Steep descents on our ride out of the mountains. Crazy high winds tried to blow us off the mountain. Rode through the desert with amazing tailwinds. The sun and heat are brutal. We were 50’yards from the border. Felt 100% better today. You almost can’t drink enough water here.
