Day 2 on the Road. Louisiana to west Texas.





 Learned a few things today. Not all campgrounds are equal.  Last night was a rough place so showers were not happening there. Tonight in Kerrville, TX we have a great spot. Paved camper parking, covered picnic table, and close water and electricity. Life is better with a shower and a decent dinner. We had waffles, bacon and maple syrup tonight.

I discovered that our locking pin that holds the trailer hitch to the truck came loose somewhere between home and Louisiana.  when I made the discovery this morning, I touched the pin and it fell out.  The Lord was watching-out for us.  We drove over 600 miles yesterday.  All is well and we are having fun.

    It was a cold night at the deliverance campground in Slidell, LA. We have some quality time o Interstate 12 West.

 We celebrated Amy’s last birthday in her 40’s by riding 58 miles. Tallahassee is behind us and we are staying in a cabin in Madison, FL. Passed a big alligator on the side of the road in our last 10 miles. Rode through Ray Charles birthplace. Planning a relaxing afternoon. Details of our Thursday 10AM finish at St Augustine beach are posted in a picture above. Riding day 2 in the books.

 Better day today. Steep descents on our ride out of the mountains. Crazy high winds tried to blow us off the mountain. Rode through the desert with amazing tailwinds. The sun and heat are brutal. We were 50’yards from the border. Felt 100% better today. You almost can’t drink enough water here.
